Step 1: copy your line of code
Your portal has an Install page with your own line, ready to copy. It looks like this, with your key in place of wk_YOUR_KEY:
<script src="https://chat.rippleandrise.com.au/static/widget.js" data-key="wk_YOUR_KEY" async></script> Step 2: paste it into your website
Put it near the end of your pages, just before the closing </body> tag. Pick your platform:
WordPress
- Install a free header and footer code plugin, such as WPCode.
- Open the plugin, add a new snippet in the Footer section and paste the line above.
- Save, then load your site in a private window to check the chat bubble appears.
You can also paste it into your theme’s footer.php just before </body>, but a theme update can overwrite that, so a plugin is safer.
Wix
- In your dashboard go to Settings, then Custom Code, then Add Custom Code.
- Paste the line, name it “AI chat”, apply it to All pages and place it at Body - end.
- Publish your site.
Custom code needs a Premium plan with a connected domain.
Squarespace
- Open Settings, then Advanced, then Code Injection.
- Paste the line into the Footer box and save.
Code Injection needs a plan that includes it, and menu names change between Squarespace versions.
Shopify
- Go to Online Store, then Themes, then Edit code.
- Open theme.liquid and paste the line just above the closing </body> tag.
- Save and check your storefront.
Take a copy of your theme first so you can undo the change.
Webflow
- Open Site settings, then Custom code.
- Paste the line into the Footer code box, save, and publish the site.
Custom code needs a paid Site plan.
Hand-built or any other site
- Paste the line into your site’s shared footer template, just before the closing </body> tag.
- If your pages are separate files, add it to each page you want the chat on.
Step 3: check it works
- Open your website in a private window. A chat bubble appears in the bottom corner within a second or two.
- Open it and ask a question. Check the answer and the opening hours look right.
- Try leaving your details, then look for the message slip in your portal and the email alert.
Optional: open the chat from your own button
Add a button anywhere on your page, such as “Chat with us” in your header or on a contact page:
<button onclick="window.rippleChat && window.rippleChat.open()">Chat with us</button> Troubleshooting
Where do I find my snippet and key?
Once your assistant is set up, it is on the Install page of your portal. The key starts with wk_ and is safe to put on your website, because the chat only works on the website address registered for it.
The chat bubble does not appear. What should I check?
First, that the whole line was pasted, including your key. Second, that you are viewing the website address registered for your assistant (the chat only shows on your own domain and its subdomains, so it will not appear on a staging or preview address). Third, clear your cache or try a private window, and pause any ad blocker. If it still does not show, tell us the page address and we will take a look.
Will it slow down my website?
It adds one small script that loads without blocking the page, and the chat itself loads in a separate frame, so your pages stay fast.
Can I put it on only some pages?
Yes. Paste the line only on the pages, or page templates, where you want the chat.
Can I open the chat from my own button?
Yes. Add a button that calls window.rippleChat.open(), as shown above. The chat then opens when it is clicked.
My site has a Content Security Policy. Will it still work?
If your website sets a strict Content Security Policy, allow https://chat.rippleandrise.com.au for scripts and frames (script-src and frame-src). Most small business sites do not need to change anything.
What if I change my domain name?
Tell us. The chat is locked to your registered domain for security, so we update it when your address changes.
